In September 2024, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office replaced the old JADES (Jail Active Data Environment Systems) system with a new jail management system built on the 365Labs Community Portal. The LPSO website notes: "The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office has implemented a new jail management system to replace its former system, JADES. Users can access the same information previously available on JADES, with the exception of a few features which will be rolled out as they become available."
The new Community Portal shows records of currently housed inmates and recently booked offenders within the last 72 hours. You can look up charge information, warrant bond records details, and cell location. A step-by-step guide is available to access on the warrant records website. The LPSO also has a mobile app that lets you search for inmates, look up recent arrests, check warrant inquiries, and pay taxes.
One thing to note: some demographic information is missing in the new Community Portal. The website states that "Date of Birth, Race, Height, Weight, Hair Color" will be added later while the transition from JADES continues. The Offender Locator system through the Louisiana Department of Corrections is updated every 24 hours.
